this privacy policy and legal notice explain how polar. handles information and who can access its online service. polar. is an offline-first android application developed by rezzt.dev. since v1.7 it ships in two builds: an offline build and an online build with cloud sync for accounts granted by the developer.
important: access to the online build
- you cannot create an account. there is no public sign-up: accounts are created only by the developer, who decides who is granted one.
- without an account, the online build works exactly as well as the offline build.
- without a linked account, the online build does not connect to the internet or to any server, api or microservice.

no analytics or tracking
neither build of polar. includes analytics, advertising or tracking sdks. the offline build does not request the internet permission and does not transmit any data.
local storage
all tasks, lists, reminders and settings are stored locally on your device in a room/sqlite database. unless you turn on cloud sync in the online build, this data never leaves your device.
cloud sync (online build only)
cloud sync is only available to people who have been granted an account by the developer. if you sign in with one, your task lists, tasks, subtasks and reminders are synchronized with a supabase backend so they are available on your other devices, and your account session is stored on the device. if you do not have or do not link an account, the online build keeps everything local and makes no network connections.
if you move from v1.6 to the offline build, polar. deletes the saved account session and sync state on first launch, so no tokens remain on the device.
backups you control
you may export a json or csv backup of your data from within the app. these files are saved to a location you choose and remain under your control.
third-party services
the offline build does not use cloud services, external apis or third-party libraries that transmit data over the network. the online build uses supabase only to authenticate your account and synchronize your data, and only after you sign in with an account granted by the developer.
legal notice
polar. and the online service used by its online build are developed and administered by rezzt.dev ("the developer").
access to the online service is by invitation only. there is no sign-up form in the app or on this website. accounts are created exclusively by the developer, who decides at their sole discretion which people are granted access and may deny or revoke it at any time. downloading, installing or using the online build does not grant any right to an account.
using the online build without an account is fully supported and is not a limited mode: every feature works the same as in the offline build. without a linked account the app makes no network connections and does not contact supabase or any other server, api or microservice.
account requests can be sent by email to contacto@rezzt.dev. sending a request does not guarantee that an account will be granted.
if an account is revoked or its session ends, the data already stored on your device remains available locally; only cloud sync stops.
use of the software is governed by the license published in its github repository.
